THE SCENE

Move aside, Baby-Boomers! There’s a new face on The Scene - a fierce, raw and scathing new comedy by Theresa Rebeck, author of Omnium Gatherum. Set within Manhattan’s celebrity-conscious social circuit, The Scene wickedly typifies the self-obsessed “party has-beens” and the new breed of predators determined to use and abuse them! At once wildly funny and chillingly poignant, The Scene featured Tony Shalhoub and Patricia Heaton at New York’s Second Stage in 2007 after being “the hit” at the 2006 Humana Festival of New American Plays in Louisville.

MEN WITH CLUBS

You’re alone in the forest with your best friend who may want to kill you! He holds up a big metal stick over his head! He swings! …And mightily hits a little white ball! Men With Clubs hilariously delves into the complexities of life, death and the dreaded onslaught of mid-life crisis among four men - childhood buddies coming together for what might be their last annual golf outing. What starts as “manly-men” fun turns into outrageous, all-out bedlam! Will they all make it back to the clubhouse alive? HotCity is excited to produce the world premiere of Men With Clubs - chosen from Greenhouse’s New Play Festival last August to further develop and present on the 2008 Mainstage!

KILLING WOMEN

Written by 2004 Washington University graduate Marisa Wegrzyn, Killing Women is a black, black comedy vis-à-vis Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs, but with a sly, feminine twist! Meet Abby, an ambitious yet honorable hit-woman working in the traditionally male-dominated world of murder-for-hire. Gunning for a promotion, Abby slams into the proverbial glass ceiling and must outrageously prove her worthiness to move up the “killing” ladder.

THE DEAD GUY

How much “reality” can America stomach? How about giving a self-proclaimed “loser” a million dollars, follow him around for a week, then let the TV audience decide if he “dies quietly in his sleep,” “gets hit by a bus,” or by “a chainsaw accident!” Disgustingly amoral, absolutely hysterical and certainly devoid of good taste, The Dead Guy is a must-see for your twisted viewing pleasure!
