THE SUBJECT WAS ROSES
THE SUBJECT WAS ROSES earned the 1965 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award for best play for its engrossing portrayal of a family in the wake of World War II. A son goes to war a boy but comes back a man of his own. The effects on his mother and father are devastating - the family wants to love each other, but they have grown irrevocably apart, and can no longer reconcile the dream and the reality.
"…some roses for Mr. Gilroy, please…the most interesting new American play to be offered on Broadway…" - Walter Kerr, The New York Herald Tribune

QUILTERS
Combining music, movement, and scenes of vivid dramatic intensity, the play pays eloquent tribute to the courage and spirit of our nation's pioneer woman - the moving spectacle of simple human dignity and steadfastness in the face of adversity. The effect is both breathtaking and magical.
"...a tender and moving theatre work, a human patchwork rippling in the breeze of memory." Newsweek
